Linux Training Camp: Exam Track 

To complete Linux Professional Institute Level 1 Certification (LPIC-1), candidates must successfully complete two exams (delivered during the program):

  • The 117-101 exam (RPM or DPKG Version) tests basic capabilities in these areas:
    • Hardware & Architecture
    • Linux Installation & Package Management
    • GNU & Unix commands
    • Devices, Linux Filesystems, Filesystem Hierarchy Standard
    • The X Window System
  • The 117-102 exam tests basic capabilities in these areas:
    • Kernel
    • Boot, Initialization, Shutdown and Runlevels
    • Printing
    • Documentation
    • Shells, Scripting, Programming, and Compiling
    • Administrative Tasks
    • Networking Fundamentals
    • Networking Services
    • Security

The CompTIA Linux+ certification validates the knowledge and abilities of individuals with at least six months of practical Linux experience. Students seeking Linux+ certification are required to take a single CompTIA Linux+ examination, which measures:

  • Planning and Implementation (4%)
  • Installation (12%)
  • Configuration (15%)
  • Administration (18%)
  • System Maintenance (14%)
  • Troubleshooting (18%)
  • Identify, Install and Maintain System Hardware (19%)

Note: Students may opt to take the LPI and/or CompTIA exam paths.  Please contact an enrollment advisor to discuss your requirements - and what certification(s) may best suit your individual needs.
