Course Description
Our 3-day CompTIA Healthcare IT Technician (HIT) program covers the technical knowledge
of healthcare and IT as they relate to HIPAA controls and compliance issues, organizational
behavior, IT operations, medical business operations, and security. Students will
walk away with the knowledge and skills required to support the implementation and
maintenance of electronic health record (EHR) systems in various clinical settings.
Why should I get CompTIA HIT Certified?
The Healthcare IT industry is exploding with opportunities for skilled IT professionals
and is forecasted to create 50,000 to 200,000 new jobs between 2010 and 2015.
CompTIA's HIT certification path provides a comprehensive approach to both technical
topics and hospital regulations. As an industry designed credential, the CompTIA
HIT exam was developed by subject matter experts in the field; it takes less time
to prepare for the exam as compared to other HIT programs in the market, and it
is readily available at a reasonable cost.
Why has HIT become so important?
In 2009, the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH)
Act was passed requiring all US paper records in medical facilities to be converted
to electronic records by 2015. To support this act, over $19 billion has been allocated
by the US government to fund projects focused on converting to electronic medical
records.
Prerequisites
It is recommended that students have
CompTIA A+ certification or 500 hours of hands-on IT technical experience
in the healthcare IT field.
Our Guarantee
Should a student complete our CompTIA HIT Boot Camp without having successfully
passed the vendor examination, the student may re-attend the program for a period
of up to one year; free of charge. The student would only be responsible for accommodations
