Placed into effect on August 1, 2009, the Post 9/11 GI Bill provides education financial support for service members who have served on active duty for 90 or more days since Sept. 10, 2001. Depending on your length of active duty service, the financial support you are eligible to receive will not only cover up to 100% percent of your training course, but a percentage of your courseware, lodging and other training-related costs as well.


Training Camp is pleased to offer the following approved training programs under the Post 9/11 GI Bill:

Eligibility Criteria for Post-9/11 GI Bill Benefits:
You are eligible if you served a minimum of 90 days on active duty after September 10, 2001. This covers active duty served as a member of the Armed Forces or as a result of a call or order to active duty from a reserve component (National Guard and Reserve) under certain sections of title 10.

As of August 1, 2011, active service performed by National Guard members under title 32 U.S.C. for the purpose of organizing, administering, recruiting, instructing, or training the National Guard; or under section 502(f) for the purpose of responding to a national emergency, will also count toward Post-9/11 GI Bill eligibility.

Select periods of active duty service are excluded and do not qualify for the Post 9/11 GI Bill:
  • ROTC under 10 U.S.C. 2107(b);
  • Service academy contract period;
  • Service terminated due to defective enlistment agreement;
  • Service used for loan repayment; and
  • Selected reserve service used to establish eligibility under the Montgomery GI Bill (MGIB chapter 30), MGIB for Selected Reserve (MGIB-SR Chapter 1606), or the Reserve Education Assistance Program (REAP chapter 1607).

Post 9/11 GI Bill Tuition Coverage:
  • Up to 100% of all tuition costs and course-related fees, paid directly to the educational institution;
  • Up to $1,000 annually for books and supplies; and
  • An allowance for accommodations and lodging based on the location of the educational center you attend.

GI Bill Benefits Transfer to Family Members:
Members of the Armed Forces on August 1, 2009, with 6+ years in the military, may transfer unused Post 9/11 GI Bill benefits to their children or spouse. Restrictions may apply.

  • Chapter 30 (Montgomery GIBill, enlisted after 7/1/85)
  • Chapter 31 (Vocational Rehab)
  • Chapter 32 (VEAP, enlisted between 1/1/77 & 7/11/85)
  • Chapter 35 (Survivors & Dependants)
  • Chapters 901 & 903 (enlisted between 11/30/80 & 9/30/81)
  • Chapter 1606 (Reserve) REAP (Reserve Educational Assistance Program)
